PATTY PALAZZO - PUNKMASTER GENERAL
Maybe you dreamed of creating iconic fashion brands and having rock star bands wear your clothes while you designed only things you loved. Well, Patty Palazzo has lived your dream. Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, she knew she wanted everything art - fashion - music. She graduated from nearby Kent State University with a degree in graphic design, moved to Los Angeles, and began to make her mark. She hooked up with John Taylor from Duran Duran and became his go-to girl for his website, t-shirts, merch, CD artwork, etc.
Patty said, "I've worn many hats over the years (with John Taylor): personal assistant, web designer, web mistress, photographer, merchandiser, photo retoucher, videographer, music editor... sounding board! I've been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to explore many of those skills working with John as I helped him create, run and maintain his own website, known as Trust The Process (TTP). It was a grassroots, creative outlet for his music, thoughts, ideas and a great way to maintain a connection with his fan base. It was also a no rules, creative playground and experiment lab for me. I learned a lot and grew a lot."
In addition to working with John, Patty was hired to create the then fledgling fashion company Juicy Couture's logo identity. She worked closely with co-founders Gela Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy.
She worked on womens graphic designs and logos for the company for 8 years, then co-founded Juicy's mens line Dirty English hand in hand with John Taylor. They produced easily 1000's of graphic designs for t-shirts and more for five years. She called them "partners in couture crime."
Since 2003 she's had a working relationship with Duran Duran designing logos, t-shirts, tour programmes, calendars, DVD packaging, stage clothes, CD packaging and a vinyl album. Most recently she designed John Taylor's biography "In The Pleasure Groove."
Eventually she had to break off and create her own iconic graphic works of art. She's a self-confessed t-shirt junkie, so she creates and screens every t-shirt by hand.
